Redlands bookstore to host launch of ‘Alpaca Poe and Cricket’ by local author
Alpaca Poe and Cricket: Inspiring young minds to think independently available March 8
From a small church stage to a thriving community theater, Scott has spent more than three decades bringing musicals and dramas to life, inspiring thousands with his faith-driven storytelling.
Wayne Scott made a pact with God in his early 20s to serve him through his talents and be a life-affirming source of inspiration for people from all religious denominations.
For 31 years, Scott, now 66, has done that with LifeHouse Theater, a faith-based community theater that presents musicals and dramas eight times a year in Redlands.
Scott writes the majority of musicals and dramas seen by 30,000 people each year in its 210- seat theater housed in the former Redlands Christian Reformed Church.
LifeHouse Theater also produces one Broadway musical a year. When asked if he has a favorite show, Scot laughed and said, “It’s usually the one I’m working on.’’
Scott grew up in San Bernardino with his parents, Lewis and Johanne Scott, and his sister Stacy. He attended Barton Elementary School, Del Vallejo Middle School and graduated from San Gorgonio High School.
Scott continued his education by graduating from the University of California, Riverside, with a double major in political science and religious studies in 1981. Before that, he was an intern with Assemblyman William R. Leonard, who later became State Senator.
