Redlands Wildfire Risk Grows, Police Investigate Burglaries, Plus Earth Day Preps and Classic Countdown Begins
Break-ins reported between March 26–29 involved smashed doors, stolen valuables and, in some cases, suspicious power outages disabling home security.
REDLANDS, Calif. — Redlands Police are investigating a series of residential burglaries reported last week, primarily targeting neighborhoods on the city’s south side.
Between March 26 and 29, multiple homes were burglarized, with suspects gaining entry by smashing rear glass doors. In at least two of the incidents, residents reported brief power outages shortly before the break-ins, disabling security systems and surveillance equipment, according to police.
The burglaries occurred in the 1000 block of Fulbright Avenue, the 400 block of Lantern Crest Drive, the 1900 block of Fairmont Drive and the 700 block of West Sunset Drive. In some cases, expensive jewelry and high-end watches were reported stolen.
Redlands Police have not released information on potential suspects but are encouraging residents to take preventive measures and report any suspicious activity.
The department also reminded residents that its Citizen Volunteer Unit offers free vacation house checks for those planning to be away for extended periods. Requests can be submitted here.
“If you see something, say something,” officials said in the Redlands Police Department Weekly Update on social media.
Anyone with information about the burglaries is urged to contact the Redlands Police Department.
