REDLANDS, Calif. — The Redlands Symphony is set to debut its Redlands Recital Series on Feb. 20, offering an intimate concert experience featuring its musicians performing personally selected works.
The three-part series begins at 7:30 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Redlands, with a performance by Redlands Symphony Concertmaster Sam Fischer and Acting Associate Concertmaster Sakura Tsai. The duo, joined by pianist Jennie Jung, will present pieces for solo and duo violin by composers Jessie Montgomery, Jean-Marie Leclair, and Dmitri Shostakovich, among others.
“We began the Redlands Recital Series as a way to provide both our community and our musicians a space for connection and emotional synergy,” Music Director and Conductor Ransom Wilson said in a statement. “Our musicians are some of the finest in Southern California, so each performance in such an intimate setting is a real treat for friends and neighbors in our region.”
The series continues March 20 with a solo recital by Redlands Symphony Principal Horn Adam Wolf, accompanied by pianist Alex Mansour.
The final concert on April 17 will feature a brass quintet led by Principal Trumpet David Scott and Principal Trombone Phil Keen, alongside guest musicians.
Each recital lasts about an hour and is followed by a complimentary dessert and wine reception, giving attendees the opportunity to meet the performers. Tickets are $25 per person, while students with ID may attend for free, courtesy of Sharon Collins.
