In an effort to bolster personal safety awareness and equip women with the tools to minimize the risk of victimization, the department will host a seminar tailored specifically for women next month.
The "Woman's Self Defense and Safety Workshop," is part of the Redlands Police Department's Street Smart program. Geared towards women and girls ages 12 and up, the three hour workshop includes an engaging lineup of presentations by members of the Redlands Police Department, hands-on training in self-defense tactics, and an interactive question and answer session focused on personal safety.
Event details: The workshop is planned for April 13, from 9:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the Redlands Community Center "Dance Room" located at 111 W. Lugonia Ave.
Participants are advised to come prepared with water and dressed in comfortable clothing and athletic shoes. The cost for the seminar is $25, with all proceeds contributing to the Street Smart After-School Self Defense program.
