Police seized electronic devices from the suspect’s home after a tip from NCMEC and a social media platform.
REDLANDS, Calif. — A 20-year-old Redlands man was arrested Thursday on suspicion of possessing child sexual abuse material, authorities said.
Donovan Brenden Brawley was taken into custody on Jan after police executed a search warrant at his residence on the 100 block of South San Mateo Street, city spokesperson Carl Baker wrote in a news release on Friday.
The investigation stemmed from a tip received by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and the social media platform Kik, according to the Redlands Police Department.
During the search, investigators seized electronic devices, including a cell phone, laptop computers, and gaming consoles. Brawley was booked at the Central Detention Center in San Bernardino and was later released on bail.
The case is part of an ongoing effort by the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force’s regional operation, Online Guardian 2.0, which aims to combat the online sexual exploitation of children. The task force includes law enforcement agencies from San Bernardino, Los Angeles, Orange, Ventura, and Santa Barbara counties.
