Facility to shut down on Nov. 30 and Dec. 28, resuming normal Saturday hours in subsequent weeks
The Redlands Household and Electronic Hazardous Waste Drop-Off facility will be closed on November 30 and December 28 due to the holidays. Regular Saturday hours will start up again the following weeks.
You can find the facility at 500 Kansas St. It's usually open on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The County of San Bernardino Fire Protection District Household Hazardous Waste Division runs the site.
During open hours, residents can get rid of various household items. These include e-waste, old prescription meds (except controlled substances), expired pet medications, paint products, chemical cleaners, pesticides, fertilizers, and hobby and pool supplies.
They also take automotive waste like oil, filters, brake fluid, transmission fluid, anti-freeze, gasoline, and propane tanks.
Keep in mind, they don't accept business waste, radioactive materials, medical waste, explosives, reactive substances, or asbestos.
