REDLANDS, Calif. – The Redlands Police Department announced the arrest of a 17-year-old Moreno Valley teenager in connection with an armed robbery at Citrus Plaza in February.
The incident occurred on Feb. 11 outside the Barnes and Noble store located at 27460 W. Lugonia Ave., according to Redlands Police Department.
The victim said he was approached from behind by two suspects when one suspect tried to rip a gold chain off his neck, according to a press release from the Redlands Police. The victim initially tried to run but gave up the necklace after the suspect indicated he had a gun, police said.
Redlands Police identified the juvenile suspect using surveillance footage and witness testimonies.
On Thursday, April 18, detectives executed a search warrant in the 12000 block of Alona Street in Moreno Valley, culminating in the arrest of the teenage suspect.
Law enforcement recovered the stolen gold chain and ammunition during the search of the residence.
Following his arrest, the suspect was booked into Juvenile Hall in San Bernardino.
