Teen has been reunited with family, according to SB Sheriff’s Department
UPDATE 9:30pm Jan. 25 — The San Bernardino Sheriff reports that Kate Heinze has been located and reunited with her family.
The Sheriff’s Department expressed its gratitude to the community who shared information to aid in locating Kate.

Redlands, Calif. — The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Central Station is investigating the disappearance of 16-year-old, Kate Heinze, from Redlands, the department announced in a press release on Friday.
According to authorities, Heinze was last seen leaving Redlands East Valley High School around 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 25. Authorities describe the teen as 5’8” weighing 140 lbs., with blond hair and blue eyes. She was spotted on surveillance footage at the University of Redlands Metro Station at 9:23 a.m on the morning she disappeared. She was reported wearing dark sweatpants, a dark-colored t-shirt, carrying a blue backpack, and wearing eyeglasses.
Authorities believe Heinze intended to travel to Los Angeles or Colorado, and was last seen arriving at Los Angeles Union Train Station around 1:30 p.m. the same day.
The Sheriff’s department has provided photos of Heinze, including an image taken at the University of Redlands Metro Station, and are seeking the public’s help in locating her.
