Police recover electronics, luggage, a bicycle and a Vespa scooter.
REDLANDS, Calif. — A man was arrested Saturday, Jan. 18, following two residential burglaries in the 1300 block of Brandon Court, according to Redlands Police.
In one incident, a resident awoke to the sound of breaking glass and discovered the suspect inside her home. The man fled the scene, leaving behind blood in the kitchen and living area, which police said was likely from an injury he sustained while forcing entry into the house.
While canvassing the neighborhood, officers found that a second nearby home, which was vacant at the time, had also been broken into and ransacked.
Investigators reviewed surveillance footage from the area and identified the suspect, who was later seen using a gas station bathroom to clean his injured hand.
San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies located the man later that afternoon as he entered a store on Yucaipa Boulevard in Yucaipa. He was taken into custody by Redlands Police.
Authorities recovered all stolen property, including electronics, luggage, a bicycle, and a Vespa scooter.
