Center introduces dance, meditation, and yoga classes to cater to diverse interests of Redlands seniors
The Joslyn Senior Center in Redlands is expanding its programming with new dance, meditation and yoga classes.
The center is introducing an Aloha Afternoon Delight Dance, a free event for seniors 55 and older on Sept. 12 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Participants are encouraged to wear Hawaiian attire and enjoy live entertainment by The Marvels Band, along with tropical refreshments and snacks.
A new meditation class, Choose Happy Vibes, will offer vibrational sound healing sessions on the third Thursday of each month. The $25 classes are open to adults 18 and older and will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 19, Oct. 17 and Nov. 21.
The center is launching Yoga Express for Healthy Aging. The five-week course, designed for seniors 55 and older, will run on Thursdays from Sept. 12 to Oct. 24, with classes from 9 to 9:45 a.m. The course fee is $55, with a drop-in rate of $15 per class.
The yoga classes will focus on "movements and exercises to maintain and improve balance, strength, joint stability and flexibility and support healthy aging," according to the center's description.
All new programs will take place at the Joslyn Senior Center, located at 21 Grant St. in Redlands. Registration is required for all activities, with interested participants encouraged to call (909) 798-7550 or visit the center's website for more information and to register:
