John Paul Maier is a candidate for City Treasurer in Redlands.
Maier has experience in municipal government, having worked in Pomona, San Bernardino, San Luis Obispo, Palm Springs, and Hemet. He currently serves as a city clerk in Hemet.
He holds both a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Economics and an MBA. Additionally, Maier holds a Master Municipal Clerk certificate and has entrepreneurial experience from co-owning an online business selling liquidation merchandise.
Maier has spent most of his life in the Inland Empire. He and his family have lived in Redlands for the past eight years.
Maier's campaign for the city of Redlands Treasurer has recorded $4,806 in personal funding as of Oct. 25, 2025.

Simply put, the Redlands Treasurer oversees the investments of the City of Redlands. The city of Redlands contracts with Valu-Trac Administration Services (VTAS), the city's preferred investment management firm, to manage the Redlands Equity Portfolio.
I believe the City Treasurer comments, voices concern, and asks questions to VTAS regarding financial reports for the City's financial assets, investments, and cash flow. The position demands transparency, vigilance, and accountability in the oversight of public funds.
If elected, I would oversee the City's investments, safeguard financial resources, and ensure the City's current investment policy adheres to legal requirements. My goal is to foster a relationship of trust with the community by providing precise and accessible financial information to all residents, something I feel is missing today.
