Longest running cycling race greenlit for its 40th year
Redlands City Council approves more than $127,000 in in-kind support for the annual event.
REDLANDS, Calif. — Artificial intelligence is often praised as a driver of unlimited opportunity and economic growth, yet some warn of its potential to disrupt industries and societies. A University of Redlands economist will explore both perspectives in an upcoming discussion on the future of AI.
Dr. Johannes Moenius, an expert in economic trends and technology platforms, will present The AI Revolution Is Here: Opportunities, Challenges, Threats—and How to Prepare for Them on March 12. The event will take place from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Esri campus in Redlands and will also be available online.
Moenius, the William R. and S. Sue Johnson Endowed Chair of Spatial Economic Analysis and Regional Planning at the University of Redlands, has studied institutions, automation, and workforce trends for decades. His insights have been featured in media outlets such as PBS NewsHour, NPR, and The Atlantic. Locally, he is known for his appearance in the HBO documentary Our Towns, based on the book by James and Deborah Fallows.
