REDLANDS, Calif. — Redlands City Council is set to review a proposal during their Tuesday, Oct. 1 meeting for a 164-unit apartment complex that would expand an existing development and add affordable housing units to the city's inventory.

Why it matters: If approved, the development would mark a significant addition to Redlands' housing stock. It also includes a request from the developer for a $1.5 million loan to offset the cost of the affordable units.

Details: The project, known as Phase 2 of the Venue at Orange Apartments, would be located at the southwest corner of Orange Avenue and Alabama Street. The proposal would add three buildings on a 3.2-acre portion of the existing 9.2-acre Venue at Orange site.
