Childcare resources available in Redlands following Line Fire school closures

REDLANDS, Calif. — As the Line Fire continues to threaten San Bernardino County, Redlands Unified School District (RUSD) has extended school closures through Sept. 13, leaving families in urgent need of childcare solutions.

YMCA of Redlands and Highland
The YMCA is hosting a day camp for children between the ages of 5 and 14 from Sept. 11-13, operating from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. This program aims to provide a safe and engaging environment for kids while schools are closed. The cost for the three-day camp is $120 for YMCA members and $135 for non-members, with financial assistance available for those in need.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Redlands-Riverside
To accommodate the extended school closures, the Boys & Girls Club has adjusted its operating hours to be open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. through the end of the week, or until further notice. This extended service is available to support families in need of childcare, providing a safe space for kids during this period of uncertainty.
