REDLANDS, Calif. — More than 150 children received new winter coats, socks, and shoes through a donation event hosted by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Redlands-Riverside, thanks to a partnership with Subaru of San Bernardino and Operation Warm.
The event, part of the Subaru Loves to Help initiative, provided children with an interactive shopping experience where they selected items in their preferred styles and colors. Volunteers assisted with fittings, creating an atmosphere of warmth and support.
“We are thrilled and grateful to partner with organizations like Subaru to address the basic needs of the youth in our community,” said Michael Wells, CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Redlands-Riverside. “This generous donation of brand-new coats will bring warmth and joy to our club members at our Redlands Hansberger Clubhouse.”
According to U.S. Census Bureau data, 17% of children in San Bernardino County live in poverty, making access to basic necessities a challenge. Initiatives like Subaru Loves to Help aim to bridge that gap, providing essential resources to families in need.
As part of its 2025 efforts, Subaru and its network of more than 630 retailers nationwide have contributed to supporting over 900,000 children and adults in urgent-need situations through partnerships with Operation Warm and other community initiatives.
