Alex Vara is running for re-election to Redlands Unified School Board Area 4.
Vara is a school board candidate with 30 years of experience in education. Raised in South-Central Los Angeles and now a resident of Highland for 25 years, he and his wife have three children. With the support of his parents, Vara overcame early academic struggles and now serves as a Middle School Principal and School Board Member. He is committed to providing students with opportunities to reach their full potential.

As a current school board member I make decisions that are in the best interest of all students and in compliance with state laws and board policies. I also maintain transparency while monitoring and evaluating the achievement of the goals we create to improve academics.
