Empowering neighbors to work together on local climate resilience and adaptation.
Redlands residents at the forefront of addressing local impacts of climate change make up the organization Accelerate Neighborhood Climate Action (ANCA). The Redlands-based nonprofit is dedicated to educating and empowering neighbors to work together towards local climate resilience and adaptation.

ANCA Redlands founder, Linda Hamilton explains the urgency behind the group's work.
"There is no question that we will go through extremely hard times even if we miraculously manage to abolish fossil fuels," said Hamilton. That's why ANCA is proposing things like disaster preparedness, localized and accessible healthcare, and sustainable local food systems.

"By working on a common vision, we will get to know our neighbors better, strengthen our networks, and learn new ways to live as we face difficult challenges in the years to come," said Hamilton.
ANCA's vision for climate resilience is centered around 10 actions that will help to reduce carbon emissions, increase readiness to meet the challenges of a changing climate, and help to ensure environmental justice, these include:
